Nux vomica

Patients receiving Nux-v. need, their illnesses have been bought through their lifestyle. They work a lot, drink a lot of alcohol and sleep little. In order to keep themselves awake and productive, they resort extensively to stimulants such as spicy and fatty foods, tobacco, coffee or other stimulants. Excessive alcohol consumption leads to liver disorders and a sedentary lifestyle leads to hemorrhoids, for which Nux-v. is one of the main remedies, especially if they have been suppressed surgically or through external applications and other complaints develop as a result. If complaints occur in the rectal area, Nux-v must always be used. be thought of. It cures many types of constipation, for example during pregnancy, after drug abuse and especially when the constipation is accompanied by persistent urge to defecate (many Nux-v. complaints are accompanied by urge to defecate).

The patients' state of mind is irritable, grumpy, nagging and they cannot tolerate contradiction. When drunk, they can become brutal and jealous. Over time, psychological and physical hypersensitivity develops; they become sensitive to the slightest noise, to footsteps, to smells, music, light, etc. If a collapse occurs, the patient no longer wants to live, but lacks the courage to commit suicide.

Nux-v. but also suitable for acute illnesses that have nothing to do with the conditions mentioned above. It acts on colds caused by cold weather (see Acon. and Hep.). Like Acon. it works best in the early stages of the disease. The patient is very cold, which doesn't really get better with heat. Like Hep. The shivering is worsened by the slightest draft. It also gets worse if the patient turns over in bed, if the bedsheets move, or if he sticks his hand out from under the bedsheets (like Hep.). The nose is dry and there is little discharge. The nose may also be alternately blocked or clear, or there may be a runny nose during the day and the nose is blocked at night. The runny nose is often accompanied by a feeling of fullness in the head. The throat is raw.

Despite the sensitivity to cold, the symptoms get better in the fresh air and are worse in a warm room (like pulse).

If the patient has a fever, body aches may also occur (like Gels.). As in the cold, the patient cannot tolerate cold, drafts or exposure without feeling shivering.

Like pulse. and Acon. one side of the face is found red, the other pale.

If the patient has a cough, it may be so violent that it feels as if the head would explode. This pain can be so intense that the patient holds his head with his hands while coughing (like Bry.).

A special indication for Nux-v. is nasal congestion in newborns and breastfed infants.
