Drosera rotundifolia

Drosera primarily affects the respiratory system. The cough for which it is suitable is caused by an irritation in the larynx, which the patient feels like a feather or like dust, and which almost drives him to despair. The cough itself is dry, hoarse or spasmodic and resembles a whooping cough (Drosera is also suitable for whooping cough). The cough comes in the evening and after midnight. It is very violent and, like Ipecacuanha, causes vomiting of mucus or food and nosebleeds. The patient holds his chest with both hands while coughing. It is typical that the cough occurs immediately after lying down. The cough is worse with heat and warm drinks and is better in the fresh air.

Drosera also acts on the larynx and cures hoarseness, for example in speakers. A very sonorous bass voice is characteristic of Drosera in connection with diseases of the larynx and respiratory tract.
