Chamomilla

Chamomilla increases the general sensitivity of the nerves. The patient becomes very sensitive on a mental and physical level. He becomes spiteful and irritable. Everything is unbearable for him: he cannot bear himself, he cannot bear others, but this is particularly true of pain, which drives him to despair and even forces him to scream. He can't stand being looked at or touched, and he sends the doctor home. The patient is extremely rude and impatient and reacts very angrily when his wishes and ideas are not met. Violent outbursts of anger occur, which lead to symptoms such as colic, vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, cramps, threatened abortion and asthma. Chamomilla must be considered wherever symptoms are accompanied by irritability and anger (for example during childbirth) or where irritability and anger preceded the symptoms. This goes so far that an infant will have convulsions after breastfeeding if the mother has previously had a tantrum. If these are complaints in children, these are improved when the child is carried around.

This increased sensitivity is also expressed on a physical level: the patient is extremely sensitive to pain and even faints from the pain (hep.). The pain is often accompanied by feelings of numbness. They are worst at night.

Chamomilla is particularly effective for toothache, teething problems in children and the eruption of wisdom teeth. This toothache is relieved by putting cold liquid in the mouth or by placing a finger moistened with cold water. They are worse at night and from heat, both in a warm room and from warm food and drinks. This aggravation from heat is a common feature of Chamomilla, as is the aggravation at 9 o'clock in the morning. In children, additional symptoms such as fever, seizures and diarrhea occur in connection with the eruption of teeth. The diarrhea is hot, yellowish-green, like chopped egg or spinach, smelly, and sore.

Other important symptoms (by no means all) are: one cheek is red, the other pale, sweat on the face after eating or drinking, hot sweat on the head, a crack in the middle of the lower lip (Nat-m.), sensitivity of the ears or the ear area to fresh air or to wind, burning soles of the feet at night, the feet are stretched out of bed (Sulph.).

Chamomilla cures any kind of ailment when indicated, especially suitable for infants and children.
