Pulsatilla pratensis
Abbreviation: Puls. · Homeopathic materia medica (patient information)
English patient information. Some clinical wording may still reflect the German source text. Not for self-prescription.
The symptoms of Pulsatilla arise from being wet or cold, especially wet or cold feet.
Pulsatilla is rarely indicated at the onset of a cold. It works well when there is a thick, yellow-green or green nasal discharge, which is always mild. Another characteristic is that the patient feels much better in the fresh air than in the apartment. The nose may be alternately blocked and clear.
When you have a cold, the food may be tasteless.
If these thick, mild and yellowish-green secretions are present and the symptoms improve in the fresh air, it also cures inflammation of the eyes or ears.
The patient is not thirsty, even if he has a fever and the mouth is dry.
If you have a cough, it gets better by sitting up. Sometimes it is so distressing that the patient cannot sleep. When you cough, you accidentally release urine.
The mood is shy, friendly, yielding and often quite tearful. Patients cry for no apparent reason, when recounting their symptoms, before menses, etc.
Other uses of Puls.: stomach spoiled by fatty foods; Earache when the head is cold; Mumps; Breech position of the child in the mother's womb.
