Calcarea carbonica

The typical Calcarea patient is blonde, fat and flabby. His handshake is wet, cold, weak and soft, as if the hand had no bones. He is cold and has an aversion to fresh air, he looks for warm places (unlike Sulph.).

There is a tendency to sweat, which is often cold. Cold sweaty feet are typical, as if the patient was wearing damp socks. Head sweat, especially at night, so that the pillow is soaked all around. Despite this cold, burning also occurs, for example on the top of the head and on the soles of the feet (even at night, as in Sulph.). The abdomen is sensitive to clothing pressure.

Calc. is an excellent children's remedy. The children are blonde and fat, have large heads, their stomachs are distended and the stomach area bulges out like an upside-down saucer. Development is slow, the fontanel closes late, they learn to walk late, and their teeth take a long time to appear. The metabolism, especially that of the bones, is also slowed down. Bone curvature, scoliosis and rickets develop. If a bone breaks, healing will take longer than usual. The children have the sweats in question, and all secretions (stool, sweat, etc.) smell sour. Teething causes them problems and they get diarrhea or, more rarely, convulsions. The lymph nodes swell and they are prone to warts, polyps and skin rashes, such as cradle cap. They have an aversion to bathing and their condition is aggravated by it (like Sulph.).

In general, the Calc. patient cannot tolerate moisture. He gets sick if he gets wet or has to stand in water for a long time while working (see also pulse). It is very sensitive to damp weather.

There is a state of great weakness, both mental and physical, for example climbing stairs causes shortness of breath and palpitations. Calc. Suitable for complaints caused by suppression of skin rashes, sweat and menstruation.

The psychological state is characterized by many fears and anxieties (Phos.). Fear of death, illness, madness and misery. Children wake up in the night, cry anxiously and cannot be calmed down (pavor nocturnus). The next day they don't remember anything. The patient cannot bear to see or hear terrible things and then becomes ill and sleepless. This is why children cover their eyes while watching TV. Or the patient has terrible fantasy images, especially when he closes his eyes.

As in the physical area, there is also sluggishness and lethargy on the mental level, but on the other hand there are also violent outbursts of anger. Stubbornness and stubbornness can be strong.

The Calc. patient has a strong desire for eggs. Children want indigestible things like sand, lime and earth. Milk is not tolerated and is vomited up as sour water or curdled milk. Patients are often constipated and then even feel better.

The menses come too early, flow too long and too heavily. Before your period comes, your breasts hurt.
